This poem is about Seamus Heaney looking up to his dad and his granddad, since they are such hard workers and dig all day.

The words or phrase witch struck me most is when he says ‘squelch and slap of soggy peat’ this words reminds of childhood memory’s splodging in muddy puddles and uses lists of three, onomatopoeia and alliteration.

Heaney is different from his farther because he has the skill of writing has the skill of digging, so he is not the same as his farther but also has a good skill of something ell’s to make up for not being a digger.
